Bicycling Outfits
The Greaser Jersey.
Im all TwinSix this season once again and couldnt be more excited about it. The only problem is that when you have the stylings of TwinSix in your closet you have to decide what you want to wear every ride. Its much more difficult than having 4 sets of the same kit you are going to wear every race of the year. As it stands ive got 14 different kits to wear for 2012 so I have some pretty huge decisions ahead of me for what jersey goes with what race. To make matters worse, they keep coming out with new stylings which any self respecting racer has to go out and get. Made in the USA, all of it. From the fabric to the finished product.

Series of stuff
The last time I worried about a season series result was the Norba NMBS as an expert. Since then I havent worried much about an overall standing. This year there are too many series to try and focus on one. All of them have some great races, and none have enough to focus your whole season on. On a national level im likely to hit a race in the...ProXCT, ProUET, AMBC, and USCup Triple Crown. Likely Ill also get into the UFD East, UFD West, Psycowpath, TDD, and AMBCS. I wont be finding any NUE time or definitely any Leadville Race Series on my schedule (i was rejected yet again in the "lottery", some people sure are lucky to get in every year). For a second I thought about going to one of the qualifiers but they all seem to be basically gravel road races, which I dont find appealling.
I remember doing like 20 local races in the Midwest Fat Tire series years ago in an effort to win the series champ jersey and monogrammed sweatshirt. I dont know if I did a single race outside of that series that year, maybe a Heartland Series race.
Heartland Series, that was a great series. Only like 4 races so it was easy to do them all and they were all excellent mtb races. The last one was at Landahl and Davey Breslin took the suprise win over the most stacked local field ive seen. I think a group of 8 rode together for most of the laps with everyone putting in their own attack until some Mesa guy nobody knew snuck away. I sprinted with Cam Chambers for 2nd, Shad Smith, Tom Price, Studnicki, Ploch, Kent McNeil and the Nebraskans would have made up the top 10. That series always brought out the fastest guys. Hopefully the UFD will do that this year.
Speaking of the UFD and the Kansas Fat Tire Fest. Mark it on your Calender. Ive been getting texts from a group of Coloradans who are doing a fair amount of trash talking. Apparently the son of the guy who puts on that race is some hot shot ex kansan 24 hour racer who plans on taking the win, err, as he says, "im not planning on it, its just going to happen". We cant let those high altitude nerds steal our trophies.

Ultimate Singletrack Experience
Ive been wanting to do a stage race the last few years. BC Bike race was always my first choice but I thought I should try one a little closer before doing it. I thought about Breck Epic, but its way too high. Then Translyvania Epic seemed to make sense, but didnt seem like much of an adventure. So I came back to the one I really wanted to do, and signed up!!

Cannondale Scalpel 29
This bike is perfect. Well, it will be once I get the new Michelin Racer Tires. I dont think there has ever been a time when I wouldnt have liked to change some part on my bike until now. I tried to ride some rocky trails with this set up and luckily the Ethos Racing team was at the trailhead with aid when I came walking out with a flat. Huge wheels and suspension make mountain biking way more fun. I keep looking for races that have the hardest rockiest trails possible so I can put the dale to the test. Might have to do some stage racing to fully appreciate this thing.

Charges Dropped
Im happy to see the charges dropped against Lance. See it here. It wouldnt have been good for anyone if he got in some big trouble. He is a hero to a lot of people for a lot of different reasons and it looks like he will stay that way. I dont know if he cheated or not, but someone has to be the best. I can keep wearing my Livestrong gear.
Weather
I got a new hat. Im not sure about it yet. I like the color combo though, so im going to keep testing it until it gets a little more broken in. The weather has been perfect lately. That changed today and its a good day to take a rest day.
